ParentSquare is the Danville Independent School District's primary traceable communications tool. Learn more about traceable communications, including the platforms we use, on our website under "Traceable Communications."
Stay connected with ParentSquare
Danville Independent Schools uses ParentSquare as our primary platform for school communication. Families and/or students receive messages through email, app, voice, or text, helping everyone stay informed and involved.
An account is automatically created for each parent or guardian using the contact information in our student information system. We encourage you to activate your account to download the free mobile app, set your language preferences, and choose how and when you’d like to receive messages.
There is a helpdesk article available that explains how parents/guardians can access their students' communications.
Other helpdesk articles and ParentSquare support are available by clicking the question mark next to your name when logged into ParentSquare on a web browser. In the app, click the menu icon at the top left, then "Help." Training, how to contact ParentSquare and more are available from there.
Your school will send you an invitation using your email address or phone number on file.
Open the invitation from ParentSquare in your email or text messages.
Click Activate your account or tap the link to go to the account registration page.
Enter your email or phone number, then click Get Started. (Optional: You can also sign in with Google or Microsoft.)
Check your contact information. If it looks correct, click Confirm. You’ll receive a code by text or email.
Enter the verification code when asked.
You’ll see your children’s names. Click Confirm next to each child who should be connected to your account. If a child is listed by mistake, click Not my child.
If everything looks correct, click Yes, this is me.
Additionally, when you’re logged in, you can access resources to help you with using ParentSquare. On a computer, click the question mark (?) in the top menu.
In the app, tap the Help icon in the app. You’ll see these options:
Contact School - Send a question to your school or find contact details.
Help Articles - Search for answers or step-by-step guides.
Instant means that you receive every post or message as it is sent out. Digest sends you one daily notification with all information you have received from the school throughout the day instead. Teachers can have important messages bypass your digest setting if it is time-sensitive.
Yes, you should. All Danville Independent Schools communication is being moved to ParentSquare, including official district messages, news, emergencies, and teacher communications.
Please login to the Campus Portal (Infinite Campus). Click on "More." Then choose "Family Information." Find the person you wish to update and update their information. Note: This information will not be updated in ParentSquare until the next day!
Posts are how your child’s teachers communicate with their entire class, or how you can receive district/schoolwide general updates. Teachers can share information about classwork, homework, projects, and more.
Teachers may also attach images, attach permission slips, request items, or ask for volunteers for an event. These can only be viewed from within the ParentSquare app.
You can “like” posts with the Appreciate button or leave a private comment that only the teacher can see and reply to.
Direct messages allow you to contact teachers and staff directly, like through a text message.
To view any ongoing conversations, press the “Messages” button on the bottom bar.
To open a new direct message, you can press the “+” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. You will then be asked if you would like to create a direct message or group conversation. After you select the direct message option, you can use the search bar to find your recipient.
From any page on the ParentSquare app, tap the triangle icon in the top right corner. This will open a dropdown where you can select which school you would like to see posts and direct messages from.
Tap on the triple-bar button in the top left corner of the screen, then press “Classes” or “Groups.” You can then select which class or club you would like to view.
Tap on the “Calendar” tab at the bottom of the screen. Dates marked with gray dots indicate past events, while blue dots indicate upcoming events. You can click on a day of the month to view its events.
Helpdesk articles and ParentSquare support are available by clicking the question mark next to your name when logged into ParentSquare on a web browser. In the app, click the menu icon at the top left, then "Help." Training, how to contact ParentSquare and more are available from there.
