Scott and Goodwin Children's Clinic Welcome Letter:
Welcome to the Scott and Goodwin Children’s Clinic! This clinic is a school-based health center within your child’s school. What this means for your child, is that he/she may be seen by a board-certified pediatrician or nurse practitioner at school.
If Danville Pediatrics is already your medical home, your child may be seen either in our main office or in the school-based clinic. If your child’s medical home is with another provider and you would like for your child to be seen in the school-based clinic, we will be available for your child as well.
We will offer services including:
- Sick visits/acute care
- Flu vaccines (flu shot and Flumist)
- Any other school related vaccines
- Well Child Visits with parent/guardian present (For current Danville Peds Patients)
How will this work? If your child presents to the school nurse at his/her school and you have given permission for your child to be seen at school, the school nurse will call you to ask if you would like for your child to be seen by the pediatric provider on-site or if you would like to pick your child up. You will have the choice each time your child would be seen. If you choose to have your child seen in the Scott and Goodwin Children’s Clinic, we will examine the child and provide a treatment plan (including prescriptions if needed). Our pediatric nurse in your child’s school will also call you after the visit to answer any questions. If Danville Pediatrics is not your child’s medical home, the note from the visit will be sent to your child’s physician.
If your child is found to have a fever or a contagious illness, you will be notified to pick your child up from school as soon as possible.
How do I enroll my child in the Scott and Goodwin Children’s Clinic? In order to be eligible to be seen by the provider, you will need to give consent during online registration. If you do not want your child to participate in the school-based health clinic, please select that option during registration and complete the necessary medical forms.
What is the cost to me? If your child has insurance, the insurance company will be billed just as if your child were being seen in our main office. If you have a co-pay, you are responsible for that charge. If your child does not have insurance, he/she will be eligible for care at no cost to you in the school-based
clinic. When school is not in session, your child (if uninsured) can also be seen at our main office for a small fee.
It is our privilege to provide excellent medical care for your child. We are committed to the well-being of your child and look forward to watching your child grow academically, physically, and mentally this school year!
