In accordance with district procedures and records retention guidelines, the Danville Independent School District performs an annual destruction of special education records six years after a student's graduation date or six years after the records are inactive/no longer needed to provide educational services to the student. These records are currently housed at the Danville Board of Education office.
It is noted that portions of these records may be needed by the student or parent/guardian for future services or benefits. A record of the student's name, their grades, classes attended, grade level completed, and year will be kept permanently. The student (18 or older) or parent/guardian may obtain a copy of these records by contacting Director of Special Education Amy Robbins at 859-936-8503.
Notice about destruction of records is included in the Advocate-Messenger annually.
