Danville Independent Schools

Governor's School for the Arts students

Three outstanding Danville High School students have been accepted into the 2022 Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA)! The goal of the program is to guide Kentucky’s finest young artists in nine different arts disciplines through intensive arts instruction and help them grow as artists and as people.

Students accepted are Ella McAllister for drama, Ramona Pierce for creative writing and Lila Ungs for film and photography. All three are juniors.

The program is equally prestigious to the Governor’s Scholars Program and is very challenging and competitive. GSA is a three-week summer residential program for rising juniors and seniors. It’s an arts education program of The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts and is offered at no cost to the student. GSA will take place on the University of Kentucky campus.
