Congratulations to the following Danville High School students recognized at the Dec. 15 Board of Education meeting at DHS (not all are pictured):

  • Dillon Cruver, for outstanding work ethic and focus.
  • Madelyn Kernen, for redefining culture at DHS through the pep club.
  • Diana Corona-Hernandez, for being a regional qualifier for HOSA - Future Health Professionals.
  • Charlie Kinkade, Izzy Colette, Vrunda Patel and Kyron Burdette, for bring excellent student panelists during a Learning Walk and Community Conversation at DHS with community members.

Congratulations to the following staff members recognized (not all are pictured):

  • DHS English Teacher Laurie Pierce, for outstanding leadership working with seniors on their capstone projects.
  • DHS English Teacher Derek Otto and DHS Science Department Head James Ramsey, for being Deeper Learning leaders.
  • DHS Cafeteria Manager Sarah Pianovski, for feeding students and staff, and treating them with kindness and respect.
  • John W. Bate Middle School Social Studies Teacher Jeff Gulle and Special Education Teacher Daveida Smith, for achieving maintenance of certification for National Board Certification.

In addition to the student and staff recognitions, the board also honored DHS as a school for achieving green status based on their performance on the Kentucky Summative Assessment for the 2024-2025 school year.
