Congratulations to John W. Bate Middle School students and district staff recognized at the Nov. 17 Danville Board of Education meeting (not all are pictured):

  • The Bate cross country team was recognized for their excellence during their season.
  • Student Willow Snyder was recognized for writing the essay that helped win Bate the Disney on Broadway School of Excellence grant.
  • Student Avery Long was recognized for getting second place in the Kentucky Association of Counties "I Love My County" Art Contest.
  • Bookkeeper Megan VonLinger was recognized for establishing a unified and transparent financial management system for the school.
  • Counselor Sydney Reynolds was recognized for developing and implementing a comprehensive, data-driven counseling program that supports academic, career and social-emotional growth for all students.
  • Special Education Teacher/Interventionist Kiera Paycheck was recognized for building leadership capacity in special education to strengthen instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Math Teacher Brittany Terrell was recognized for continuing to show growth in math achievement, displaying a positive attitude and developing as a leader.
  • The following students were recognized for leading community members on a learning walk around Bate: Ruth Goodwin, Ethan Jefferson, Emery Goestch, Wesley Durham, Layla King, Chloe Whisenant and Z'yion Ellery.
