The Danville Independent School District’s Advanced Placement (AP) Exam data is in for 2026, with several highlights. 

Of the Danville High School students who took AP exams, about 77% percent received a passing score of 3 or above, with 5 being the highest achievable score. The percentage of total students who got scores 3 or above has steadily increased each year since 2023, when it was about 48%. 

Students who receive a 3 or higher on an AP exam are eligible for college credit at most postsecondary institutions, and this can result in saving money on college tuition. 

There were 132 students who took at least one AP class in 2026, and they took a total of 224 AP exams. The number of students taking at least one AP exam was similar to the previous year.

The dedication of DHS teachers resulted in students from most courses earning qualifying scores at a much higher rate than the state average. This includes students from African American Studies, Biology, English Language and Composition, Environmental Science, Precalculus, United States History, and World History: Modern. AP African American Studies, taught by Social Studies Teacher Tevin Washington, saw a 100% pass rate for the second year in a row.
