Danville Independent Schools is taking a major step toward preparing all students for the future by implementing Project Discovery, a nationally validated hands-on career education program designed specifically for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Developed by Education Associates of Louisville, Project Discovery is recognized and validated by the Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT) and the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE). The program helps students explore a wide range of careers at the entry level while learning practical, real-world skills that align with their interests and abilities.

Teachers across the district recently completed training on the implementation of Project Discovery. The training, led by Education Associates, provided educators with strategies and resources to bring career exploration to life in their classrooms. Teachers will continue to receive ongoing support and professional development throughout the year to ensure the program’s success and help every student reach their potential.

In addition to Project Discovery, Danville Schools is also introducing Achieve Life Skills, a complementary curriculum from Education Associates that builds essential daily living, social, and workplace readiness skills. Together, these programs provide students with a comprehensive pathway to independence, employment, and lifelong success.
