Danville Independent Schools Chief Academic Officer Suzanne Farmer is one of two Kentuckians recognized with a 2024 Kentucky National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) Champion Award. The other individual is Dr. Angela Gunter, the District Literacy Instructional Coach and Gifted & Talented Coordinator for Daviess County Public Schools. The awards were presented at the NBCT Recognition Ceremony held on Feb. 8 at the Kentucky State University Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm.

Farmer has been a National Board Certified early childhood educator since 2004.

“I’m humbled and honored to receive this award by a community and process that have forever changed and continues to improve my life," Farmer said upon receiving the award. "To the newly certified, your journey is just beginning. I encourage you to embrace this community and the many opportunities it will bring.”
