Students who work on the Undertow literary magazine are presented with a MAC grant check.

Danville High School has exciting news about its literary magazine, “Undertow.” The magazine received a MAC (Make Activities Count) Grant in the amount of $750 that will go toward production costs.

MAC grants are presented by Kentucky McDonald’s restaurants to support teacher projects.

Local McDonald’s owner/operator Abby Tamme presented a check to Lois Sepahban, an English teacher at DHS who is also the literary magazine adviser, and the following students:

  • Anna Davis, fiction editor of “Undertow”
  • Evan Sanders, nonfiction editor
  • Matthew Gover, editor-in-chief
  • Abby Sears, poetry editor

Not pictured but also involved in the production of the magazine are students Ben Tibbles, who does the layout work for “Undertow,” and Rylan Montgomery, the magazine’s art director.
