The Kentucky Department of Education released School Report Card data for schools across the state on Nov. 19. There were several highlights from the Danville Independent School District’s data

Danville High School has a green rating for the school year 2025, the second-highest rating on the KDE’s scale that ranges from red to blue. One notable change is a 16.5% jump in the school’s postsecondary readiness score as a result of higher ACT scores, earning qualifying scores on Advanced Placement exams and successfully completing career pathways.

“This is meaningful because that’s the ultimate goal of our school district, for our students to be ready for life after graduation,” said Chief Academic Officer Suzanne Farmer.

Across all schools that have Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) testing in the district — Edna L. Toliver Intermediate School, John W. Bate Middle School and DHS — there were more students who scored proficient and distinguished in science and fewer students who scored at the novice level in science, compared to the previous year.

“This shows that our intentional training and high quality instructional resources are paying off, both in the classroom and in testing,” Farmer said.

Another highlight from the data is the growth on the Quality of School Climate and Safety Survey at all schools in the district. The survey asks students a variety of questions, including about belonging and how students are treated at school. A few highlights from the survey include that students in the district believe that "adults respect students' differences” (87%), "teachers make students feel welcome in class" (85%), and "teachers expect students to do their best all the time" (87%).
