Danville High School Football Coach Mark Peach announced his decision to resign as coach this morning. He has resigned effective immediately but will remain a teacher in the district.
Peach met with the football team to share the news this morning after speaking with DHS Principal Chad Luhman about his resignation.
The DHS school administration will immediately begin the process of hiring a new person for the head football coach position. Administration will identify desired characteristics in the next coach and will post the position opening on the Danville Independent School District website as well as through the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA), and the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE).
“Our plan is to have this position filled by winter break,” Luhman said. The DISD’s winter break begins Dec. 19.
Interim Athletic Director CJ Lynn is working with Peach on scheduling and inventory details. Peach and assistant coaches are collaborating on the football team’s banquet.
The DISD appreciates the service Coach Peach has devoted to the team over the past two seasons.
