On Tuesday, May 28, The Danville Independent School District had an end-of-the-year celebration with all district staff. From each school and on the district level, individuals were recognized as Rookie of the Year, Classified Staff of the Year and Certified Staff of the Year. The winner of the Lydia Ellis Innovative Arts Educator of the Year Award was also announced. These recognitions were based on a nominations process. 

Dee Ann Gray received the Lydia Ellis Innovative Arts Educator of the Year Award in Gravely Hall.

Dee Ann Gray, the John W. Bate Middle School and Danville High School choir and piano teacher, received the Lydia Ellis Innovative Arts Educator of the Year Award. She is pictured far right.
