The John W. Bate Middle School cross country team and coaches were recognized at the Oct. 23 board of education meeting.

Congratulations to the John W. Bate Middle School cross country team and teachers who were recognized at the Oct. 23 board of education meeting.
The cross country team has had a lot of success this season. They have earned the Salt River Conference Championship and were champs at the Berea Invitational, as well as runners-up at the Chick-Fil-A Area 6 Tournament.
Bate teachers Eric Paycheck and Tara Emerson were also recognized at the board meeting. Eric Paycheck was recognized for being 6th grade team leader and safe crisis management trainer, and for helping with car rider dismissal and at school dances. Tara Emerson was recognized for going above and beyond as a 7th grade team lead and athletic director.
