College Information

The Danville High School Counseling Department offers the service of college counseling as a resource to investigate appropriate college options with students and their families. It is our ambition to remain realistic and supportive of the students' interests and goals for post-high school planning. We will provide information at grade-appropriate intervals regarding standardized testing, college applications and the admission procedures, NCAA eligibility and financial aid information.

College Websites: Almost all of the information you would ever want to know about a specific college can be found by visiting that school's website. Find information on admission requirements, scholarships, financial aid, and much more. Each college will have its own online application located on their website. To find a school's website, simply Google the name of the college. Students are encouraged to become acquainted with their counselors as soon as possible. Appointments can be made by contacting one of the Counselors.

Big Future   Big Future is a sister brand of the famous ACT/SAT test taker College Board. This website is superb for students and parents. Students can do basic research on colleges and find careers that they want to explore. Parents are able to get the facts about college while finding ways to pay for college.

College Visits: Students need to complete an Education Enhancement Opportunity Request Form from the Guidance Office and return to the principal at least five (5) days prior to the absences. Juniors and seniors are advised to use the school calendar in the student handbook to plan visits that coincide with school breaks. (See Mrs. Hawkins for details).

Parchment is an official website that enables students to manage the release of their high school transcripts to colleges and universities.
