This past weekend the Danville Admiral Marching Band took 1st place at the KMEA Class 2A East Regional Marching Band Competition at Bourbon High School, scoring an 82.6 which is a distinguished rating. The band competed against 13 other bands and out scored the 2nd place band by 5 points. The band will travel this weekend to Bowling Green to compete in the KMEA State Semi-finals Competition with hopes of returning to the State Finals Competition Saturday Night at Western Kentucky University. The band will perform Saturday at 3:00 central time at Greenwood High School.
The band represented the school district with great pride and class this past weekend. I am proud of the band, staff and all the parents that helped us get to this point in our season. If you see any of these students please congratulate them on their performance, to my knowledge this is the first time Danville has won the regional.
