The Danville Schools Gravely Hall Performing Arts Center hosted the second annual Danville’s Got Talent on Tuesday Oct. 4th featuring nineteen gifted acts! Talented performers in all three age categories, 11 and under, 16 and under and 17 and over, took the stage and captivated the audience with song, dance and instrumental music. In this showcase, the audience chooses their favorite performers. As the sponsors of the event were busy calculating votes, our Special Guest Performers, the Bate Middle School Jazz Band and the Bate Middle School Chorus entertained the audience. All performers were honored and receive complimentary tickets to a Danville High School play of their choice this year; either Our Town (Nov. 2011) or Beauty and the Beast (April 2012). Runners-up and winners in each category received prizes. The runner-ups for 2011 were: 11 and under – Emma Merryman and Gabrielle Burger, 16 and under - Miranda Lopez and 17 and over – Tracy Grevin. Winners of the 2011 Danville’s Got Talent were: 11 and under – Faith Breitenbach, 16 and under Lydia Graham and 17 and over Jamee Peyton. Many thanks to all our talented performers! Danville’s Got Talent is an annual event sponsored by the Danville Schools Gravely Hall Performing Arts Center, Beacon Youth Services and Families First.
