The Danville Schools Education Foundation, Inc. is
a nonprofit organization established to assist the
Danville Independent Schools and augment,
supplement, or complement programs and activities
provided by the School District.
Formed in 2005, the Foundation provides a vehicle
for individuals, corporations, and foundations to
contribute tax-deductible donations to support
students and educational programs. It is governed
by its own volunteer board of directors and works
closely with school administrators to ensure funds
are used to meet the needs of students and follow
donors’ wishes.
The vision of the Foundation is to provide Danville
citizens, alumni, and friends with the opportunity to
significantly impact one of our community’s most
important educational, economic, and cultural assets.
However, securing additional resources for schools
is only part of the Foundation’s mission. As one
Foundation Board member stated,
