The Hogsett Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is an active part of our school. Early each fall, they host our "meet the teacher" Open House. They also conduct at least two fund-raiser for the school each year. These successful fund-raisers have enabled the staff to make purchases such as a fax machine for the office, new carpet for classrooms, and Orf instruments for the music classes. The PTO has provided the funds for the sign and marquee located at the entrance of our school, sports equipment for individual classroom use, chairs for the computer lab, and equipment for the playground. Most recently, the PTO has purchased chair covers for the first grade students and VCR/DVD players for all classrooms.
In addition to fundraising and purchasing "extras" for our school, the members of the PTO can often be found volunteering their time at school. They help prepare materials for teachers, assist with vision and hearing screenings, chaperone field trips, assemble take-home packets and provide snacks and entertainment for holiday parties. They work closely with Families First on events such as Dad's Night Out. They are a vital component of the Hogsett Elementary School Community. All families and staff are encouraged to become active in the Hogsett Parent Teacher Organization. Everyone is welcome!
