The Toliver SBDM council is responsible for the following functions: determining the number of persons to be employed in each job classification, within the parameters of the total available funds; determining which textbooks and instructional material shall be used within the school; determining what student support services shall be provided in the school; selecting a new principal for the school when that position becomes vacant; consulting with the principal before the principal selects persons to be hired to fill other positions at the school; and adopting policies to be implemented by the principal in the areas of curriculum, staff time, student placement, schedule, use of school space, instructional practices, discipline and classroom management, extracurricular activities, and alignment with state standards, technology utilization, and program appraisal.
 
The SBDM Council is composed of the principal of the school, four teacher members, and three parent members, with the principal serving as chairperson. The council holds its regular meetings one Wednesday of each month at 3:30 PM in the teacher's dining room. Special meetings are called by the chairperson as needed.  Please check the SBDM calendar page for dates for the 2011 - 2012 school year.
