The paintings will transition over to Ephraim McDowell at the beginning of June. There is also other great art on display from Art 1 classes taught by Shelly Lawrence at DHS, Art Classes at Bate taught by Karen Green, Art Classes from Jennie Rogers/Toliver taught by Elaine Hearne, and Art Classes from Hogsett taught by Carrie McGuire.
The DHS Junior State of America chapter had a great Spring State! Members Calvin Steber, Joe Weston, Jono Beto, and (elected Mayor) Andrew McKinney all were recognized for excellence in the event. The Annual Danville High School Artist Project will begin May 3rd. The silent auction will start at 5:00pm and end at 7:00pm. Each painting will be available to be purchased. Please come and see the outstanding work of DHS students. There will also be artwork from each school in the Danville District displayed for your enjoyment during the show. Sing along with our talented cast as they portray all of your favorite characters at the Gravely Hall Performing Arts Center at Danville High School. Danville High School participated in the Kentucky United Nations Assembly for the first time March 25-27 (as North Korea). The delegation won the Best New Delegation Award and a Certificate of Distinction. In addition, Jono Beto received a leadership award, and Joe Weston was named best speaker in his committee. Danville High School completed a sweep of the four major Kentucky speech leagues with wins at both the state Speech and Debate tournaments hosted by the Kentucky High School Speech League on March 22-24. Danville High School placed first in Speech and first in Congress in the team competitions during the National Forensic League’s Kentucky District Tournament held Friday and Saturday at Centre College. DHS qualified six students for the Indianapolis national speech and debate tournament, the world’s largest academic competition, in June. Click on the NFL Logo for full DHS honors from the contest.
