Public Notice: Destruction of Special Education Documents

This is notification that the district is preparing to destroy certain inactive, personally identifiable information regarding services to special education students.

This information may include referral data, notice/consent documents, assessment reports and supporting data, and IEPs. Information on students who graduated or left Danville Independent Schools prior to 2015 will be destroyed after July 17, 2018. A record of the student’s name, his/her grades, classes attended, grade level completed, and year will be kept permanently.

Portions of the records may be needed by the student or parent/guardian for future services or benefits. Parents or students (18 & older) who wish to request a copy of these records must contact Tina Wray, Director of Special Education, at 859-936-8501, no later than July 12, 2018.
