Superintendent Search Screening Committee Info and Nominations
Posted on 03/08/2018

The Danville Board of Education has contracted with the Kentucky School Boards Association to facilitate the search and selection process in hiring a new superintendent. Per KRS 160.352, a screening committee must be formed made up of two teachers, one board member, one principal, one classified employee and one parent.

The Screening Committee has now been formed. Click here for the membership.

SCREENING COMMITTEE
The first step in this process is to elect stakeholder representatives to serve on a Screening Committee. This committee will be tasked with reviewing all applications for the superintendent position, confirming references and making recommendations to the Board of Education.

Make-up of the Screening Committee is mandated by legislation (KRS 160.352) and will consist of:

  • One representative of the Board of Education;
  • One principal;
  • Two certified staff members;
  • One classified/support staff;
  • One parent.

If none of those individuals is a member of an ethnic minority group, a separate election will be held to name a minority parent to this committee. Therefore, the Screening Committee will consist of either six or seven members.

These individuals must be prepared to attend four meetings. These meetings will be approximately two hours in length. Committee members will also be charged with contacting applicant references. Only individuals who are able and willing to commit to these requirements should accept nominations to serve.
