Satterly earned a bachelor's degree in music education from The University of the Cumberlands, a master's degree in arts education (school counseling) and rank one certification from Eastern Kentucky University, and a master's degree in arts education (K-12 Leadership/Principalship) from the University of the Cumberlands.

"This is an exceptional choice for our community. Sheri is an enthusiastic believer in all the things that go on in the Danville Schools, and she has worked hard for the system. Having taught her as a Danville High student, then working with her this year at the high school, I am really looking forward to collaborating  with her in the coming year to meet the educational goals of the Danville community," Director of Post-Secondary Education Win Smith said.

“Satterly’s K-12 professional experience in the Danville Schools makes her uniquely qualified to bring forth the meaning and purpose of middle grades education. Her drive, commitment, and relationships throughout the community will honor the history of Bate Middle School and fuel its charge to help all students reach their individual potential as both a learner and as a person,” Superintendent Keith Look, Ed.D., said.
