Bowling Green, Kentucky - January 13, 2014 - The 2014 VSA Kentucky Student Traveling Exhibition, "A Matter of Perspective", showcasing original artwork created by K-12 students with disabilities in schools throughout Kentucky is now on tour. This annual exhibit will travel January through September to 17 schools and other locations in 16 counties throughout the state.The exhibit debuted at the Galt House during the Kentucky Council for Exceptional Children in Louisville, during March it will be on display at the Capitol Plaza Tower in Frankfort for Youth Art Month, and during the summer months it will be at the Warren County Public Library in Bowling Green.

Hogsett Elementary has been chosen to host the Exhibit February 18-21.


The exhibit consists of 31 artworks from 24 schools.Subjects include ships, animals, landscapes, portraiture and design with styles ranging from realistic to abstract.Students used a variety of artistic media include acrylics, watercolor, tempera, pencil, colored pencil, crayons and markers, ink, and mixed media.Students used techniques and process including printmaking, collage, drawing and painting.

Each year in October, VSA Kentucky extends a Call for Art to students with disabilties in Kentucky schools, grades K-12. Our goal is to recognize and share the artistic accomplishment of students with disabilities in the visual arts throughout the Commonwealth.
