The title of 2013 Arts Citizen will be presented to Mr. Meadows on Tuesday, January 28th, at 7:00 pm in the McKinney Conference Center at Constitution Square. The presentation is open to the public and all are invited. Mr. Meadows has been instrumental in building the Danville High School Forensics Team into one of the top teams in the state showcasing talented Danville High School students in Speech and Debate and Dramatic events. Danville High School regularly places among the top schools in both State Speech Tournaments, and regularly sends students on to place in the semi-finals and finals of the National Speech Tournaments. DHS is the only Kentucky team to win all four of the state tournaments twice, (2008 and 2012). In addition, Mr. Meadows has directed over 20 theatrical productions on the Gravely Hall stage and has worked with hundreds of Danville High School students through Speech and Drama courses at Danville High School. As part of the District of Innovation initiative, Mr. Meadows has been instrumental in bringing Speech classes to the middle school and in advocating the value of spoken communication for all students!
