Congrats to our DHS Forensics Team! They won the Louisville area tournament of the National Catholic Forensic League for the 19th straight year!
Forensic ads took first in speech and second in debate overall. The annual contest serves as the qualifying meet for the NCFL Grand National Tournament, held each year over Memorial Day weekend.
Students from around the state competed in six speech and three debate events in the contest held in Hodgenville at LaRue County High School on March 5. Contestants competed in four rounds with the top five scorers in each event advancing on to Sacramento. Eleven DHS competitors qualified to compete at the national tournament: Zane Arnold and Greg Goldie in Congressional Debate, Charlie Hall and Claire Strysick in Declamation, Hannah Draut and Lydia Graham in Dramatic Performance, the teams of Dylan Godbey/Clay Williams and Matt Ballard/McCallum Morley in Duo Interpretation, and Grace Sheene in Oral Interpretation.
DHS next competes at the state speech and debate tournaments sponsored by the Kentucky High School Speech League and held at the University of Kentucky March 10-12. Good luck, Admirals!
