Welcome to The Beacon Youth Services Center! I am Ms. Kristi Short, the Director of The Beacon Youth Services Center at Danville High School and Bate Middle School. I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and have earned 12 hours toward a Masters in Education.
My professional experience includes working as a Counselor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Education & Workforce Development Cabinet. Additionally, I have several years of experience working in Community Resources and Public Relations.
My primary goal is to engage and serve ALL students attending Danville High School and Bate Middle School. The Beacon YSC offers a welcoming and supportive environment conducive to student academic success.
If you have not yet visited our new center location, you are invited to stop in and see what we have to offer our students, families and the community at-large. The Beacon YSC is easily accessible in Room 122 next to the Guidance Office.
The Beacon Youth Services Center is open year round with an exception of school holidays. Hours of operation are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and other times by appointment.
