AP ENGLISH LITERATURE AND COMPOSITION Grade level: 12 Credit: 1

Prerequisite: Successful completion of the summer reading program.  This is an accelerated, college-level course covering literature written in English.  The course’s focus includes AP exam preparation and completion of the Kentucky Writing Portfolio as well as numerous novels and plays, short fiction, poetry, and independent reading.  Students will take the AP English Literature and Composition test in May.  This course replaces English IV for graduation requirements for those students who take it.
