Aaron Carpenter moved to Danville from West Virginia specifically to work at Danville High School. Carpenter chose Danville in 2002 because the town had a similar feel to his home town (and only a three to four hour drive away from his home town). After graduating from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, Carpenter has an undergraduate degree in Secondary Education. Carpenter was the first in his family to graduate college because his parents wanted more for their son. His wife teaches fourth grade at Jennie Rogers Elementary; they have three children (Jacob, Ava and Taylor). Since moving to Danville, Aaron has also earned a Master’s of Science in mathematics from Eastern Kentucky University, but he is not interested in pursuing a doctorate as of right now.
His favorite education quote is from Henry Adams: “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” Carpenter hopes to have a positive impact on his students.
