The DHS Forensics Team took first place in team sweepstakes this past weekend at the Kentucky Educational Speech and Drama Association. Danville took thirty-nine students to the tournament, and placed twenty-eight of them in finals, including four champions. Danville took home sixty-eight awards total and won the tournament by a margin of nearly one hundred points. Click on the photo the left for the full press release and results.

Seamus Sallee placed 6th in the 190 lb. weight class at the Kentucky Middle School Wrestling State Championships on Saturday in Montgomery County. Congratulations Seamus!

Last May we held our second Celebration of Learning. The event was a tremendous success, with projects, performances and exhibits galore. Students and families crowded the halls and lobby of Danville High School and even spilled into Gravely Hall and onto the front steps! Such an exciting and important event for our community needs a LOGO that represents this unique celebration. On top of it all, this year’s Celebration of Learning is also a celebration of 100 years for Danville Schools! SO, WE ARE HAVING A CONTEST! On behalf of the Bate Middle School Exploratory Center for the Creative Arts Classes we would like to invite you to a special pre-board meeting viewing of class work created and performed by students in BMECCA classes including: 7th & 8th grade Band, 7th & 8th grade Choir, Drama, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Visual Art. The students will provide short performances on Monday, January 23rd, from 5:30 – 6:00 pm around the school. With a combined team GPA of 4.2 all individual members of the DHS girls' soccer team have received all state academic recognition. The team will be recognized at the January Board of Edcuation meeting. Congratulations to all!
The Danville High School Cheerleaders are the 12th region KAPOS champs! They placed first in the traditional division. They will now represent the 12th region at the state competition on February 18 at WKU in Bowling Green. Additionally, senior Mary Cait Rolph received the Scarlette Parsley Hooker regional academic scholarship over all applicants in the region! We are very proud of her and the rest of the girls for their hard work. Congratulations!!
