Statement Regarding Baccalaureate
Posted on 05/18/2015
Parents and students came together on Sunday evening (17 May 2015) in a baccalaureate service to honor the 2015 graduating class. The organizing committee of parents and students requested Gravely Hall on the campus of Danville High School (DHS) to be the site for this year’s event. DHS obliged. At the event, words of hope, acceptance, well-wishes, and joy emanated from a diverse set of presenters which included a student of Muslim faith, the men’s choir of the 1st Baptist Church, a parent, and a professor of religion from Centre College. Though neither the Board of Education nor the school district organize or sponsor baccalaureate services, we take this opportunity to express our congratulations to the wonderful diversity of students that compose this year’s graduating class, like many before and many more to come. In the Danville Schools, all means all. We wish you the best of luck as you experience an ever-changing world and make your imprint upon it. May peace, wellness, and success be with each of you as you venture into phases of your life yet untold.   READ MORE...
