The third annual “Dancing With the Danville STARS!” will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 6-8:30pm at DHS Gravely Hall Auditorium. Seven daring couples will be dancing for the coveted title of 2014 DWTDS Champions. Representing Jennie Rogers Elementary School, Robin Kelly and Tripp Wilson; Toliver Elementary-Katie Palmer and Brent Beauman; Hogsett Elementary-Megan and Clay Albright; Bate Middle School-Robin Moler and Marc Williams; Danville High School-Sheri Satterly and Bert Kissick. The Poe Project

The Poe Project opens tonight at West T. Hill Community Theatre. This is NOT your typical play. This is a presentation of learning! The kids in the advanced speech class at Bate Middle School researched, wrote and directed this play. They began researching Edgar Allan Poe at the start of the year, then worked on writing the script and moved on to the production aspects of the show. The tickets are $10.00. Performances take place October 23-25 at 8:00, October 26 at 3:00, and October 31 at 8:00. Please come out and support our students.   READ MORE...

Danville Schools Elementary Beginning Strings Program

The Danville Independent School’s Elementary Beginning Strings Program is starting Monday Oct. 27th for 3rd – 5th grade students. An important parent information meeting will be held on Thursday Oct. 23rd at 3:30 in the music room at Jennie Rogers Elementary. All interested parents and students please attend. If you are interested and can’t make the meeting please contact Jane Dewey, Director of Arts Education, Danville Independent Schools, jane.dewey@danville.kyschools.us. Classes are offered free of charge through funding provided by the Danville Schools Education Foundation and instruction is offered through a collaboration with the Heritage Area Strings Program, HASP.   READ MORE...

Kentucky Peer Support Network Project and AdsCORPS invite you to attend a Community Conversation about increasing participation in community activities for people with disabilities. The conversation takes place on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Community Arts Center from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Refreshments will be served.
